Archive creation and deposition of all fieldwork project types

Fieldwork, excavation, research and publication generate important datasets that can be used to facilitate understanding and further study of the historic landscape. Oxford Archaeology has considerable experience and expertise in preparation and deposition of primary and research archives in both traditional and digital formats.

To date we have deposited over two thousand archives with accredited repositories throughout the UK. These are from all our own fieldwork, including major infrastructure projects, and archives prepared on behalf of other archaeological organisations.

Information about our sites is accessible through the OASIS website, and pdf versions of the reports and archives of many of our projects are available to download through our digital library and the Archaeology Data Service.

We regularly contribute to policy and debate surrounding archive format and standards through direct consultation and committee membership.
