22nd May 2015:

Oxford Archaeology and the School of Archaeology, Oxford University, joined forces at LiveFriday last week at the Ashmolean Museum to present 'The Past People of Oxfordshire', a study of skeletons archaeologically excavated in Oxfordshire.

The display was one of the most popular LiveFriday events, attracting hundreds of visitors throughout the evening eager to see a rare viewing of a very recently excavated skeleton from St Cross College, demonstrations of the techniques used by osteologists, and a preview of a database on over 7,000 burials excavated in Oxfordshire, which allowed visitors to find out about the past people in their area.

As is evident just from the images, the evening was a huge success. The database is due to be launched soon, so watch this space for updates!
