12th December 2014:

The Oxfordshire Museum will host a study day on 7th February 2015, which will examine aspects of Iron Age society in light of evidence recovered from Didcot, Oxfordshire.

The focus of the day will be a rare and ornate bronze mirror found by a metal detectorist, and leading academic experts will discuss the function, significance, and manufacture of the object.

Dr Chris Hayden, senior project manager at Oxford Archaeology, will also be present to talk about Oxford Archaeology's recent excavations at Great Western Park in Didcot.

Tickets for the event are available from the Oxfordshire Museum. Click here for more details.

A story about the mirror and the event appeared in the Oxford Mail, and can be read here.
