7th March 2014:

A walk through 10,000 years of archaeology

Visitors to Dorchester-on-Thames can now walk through 10,000 years of archaeology, thanks to a guide produced by the Discovering Dorchester-on-Thames project, which is a collaboration between Oxford Archaeology, Dorchester Abbey Museum, and the University of Oxford.

The leaflet offers a walk that starts and finishes at the Abbey Church and museum, and takes in the site of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments, an Iron Age hillfort, a Roman town, a medieval manor house, and other notable landscapes and landmarks.

Copies of the leaflet are available from Dorchester Abbey Museum.
