6th December 2013:
The nominations for the sixth annual Current Archaeology Awards have been announced. Oxford Archaeology has received two nominations. Each year, the Archaeologist of the Year award recognises archaeologists for their hard work and dedication. We are thrilled that this year Gill Hey, Oxford Archaeology’s CEO, is one of three nominees.
In addition, the work of Oxford Archaeology in collaboration with the University of Southampton on the Ebbsfleet Elephant, uncovered during the excavation of a Palaeolithic butchery site in the Thames Estuary in advance of the construction of High Speed 1, is in the running for Rescue Dig of the Year.
Voting is now under way. Click here for more details about the nominees and how you can vote.
