26th July 2012:

On Wednesday 23rd May, OA staff returned to the East Kent Access Road for its official opening by Norman Baker MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport. The archaeological work undertaken along the scheme in 2010 was one of the most intensive periods of excavation in OA’s history.

Oxford Archaeology, as part of the Oxford Wessex Joint Venture, made a massive contribution to the success of this scheme, a fact recognised by both Kent County Council and the main contractors, VolkerFitzpatrick HOCHTIEF.

Our work continues on the post-excavation analysis and the results should appear in print towards the end of next year.
