Katrina has worked for Oxford Archaeology since 2004 and has over 15 years' experience in professional archaeology in the UK and abroad. As well as being OA South's Regional Manager, she also manages a portfolio of projects. She has a particular interest in early Roman Britain and the archaeology of World War II.

Katrina holds a PG Dip in Forensic Archaeology from Bournemouth University and an MA in Classical Studies from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. She is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (ACIfA).

Fraser has been working in British archaeology since the late 1980s and graduated with a BA in Archaeology and Prehistory from Sheffield University in 1995. He joined Oxford Archaeology in 1998 and is Regional Manager for OA North.

He has considerable project management experience, overseeing projects, in both rural and urban environments, from tender through to publication. He has routinely undertaken work for the building construction, mineral extraction, transport and energy sectors, and has particular experience of large-scale infrastructure projects, including road schemes, long-distance pipelines and airports. Notable recent projects include the Carlisle Northern Development Route, the Isle of Man Airport Runway End Safety Area project, and the Asselby to Pannal Natural Gas Pipeline. Fraser is also a qualified Health and Safety Advisor and helps co-ordinate and implement health and safety policy at OA North.

Holding a BA in Archaeology from the University of Bristol, an MA from UCL Institute of Archaeology, and a PhD from Cambridge University, Alan has over 30 years' experience in professional archaeology in the UK and abroad. As Operations Manager Alan has responsibility for co-ordinating operations at OA North, and acts as the initial point of contact for commercial clients at that office.

A Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA), he is committed to improving practice at OA North, while focussing on providing a cost-effective service for the wide variety of clients that we deal with. As a project manager Alan has run and co-ordinated some of OA North’s most complex projects including the A1(M) Darrington to Dishforth DBFO Road Scheme.

Stephen has over 30 years' experience in British, French and North American archaeology. He graduated from the University of Sheffield with a BA in Prehistory and Archaeology and has an MPhil in Archaeological Heritage and Museums from the University of Cambridge.

He is a leading proponent of Public Archaeology and has the responsibility for the education and outreach projects across Oxford Archaeology, managing the Oxford Archaeology Outreach service. Stephen has considerable experience in successfully obtaining grant aid for this type of heritage project.

He has extensive experience in project management, contracts and the heritage sector in general. Stephen is a Heritage Management and Roman specialist, and continues to pursue research projects in these areas, predominately but not solely in the Eastern Region. Stephen is a full Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA), a member of the Council for British Archaeology (East) and sits on the council of the Cambridge Antiquarian Society.

David has worked as a professional archaeologist for OA since graduating from Reading University in 1996 with a first class honours degree in Archaeology. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA), and has managed a portfolio of diverse projects, which currently includes one of the largest urban regeneration developments in the country and a number of significant infrastructure schemes.

David has considerable project management experience in fieldwork, post-excavation and consultancy within a commercial environment and is a flexible and adaptable manager. An adept problem solver, often formulating new strategies for excavating and recording the archaeological evidence to satisfy client requirements, he is experienced at planning archaeological investigations to coincide with the work programmes of major development projects, and is particularly accomplished at liaising and working with clients and other contractors on site. David takes pride in completing the archaeological work to a high standard while bringing projects in on time and within budget.

Tim has directed and written up archaeological excavations for OA for over 30 years. His excavation projects include pipelines, road schemes, urban redevelopment, mineral extraction, housing, and work in modern cemeteries. The largest and most complex of these have been the Abingdon Vineyard Redevelopment, Eton Rowing Course, the A2 Pepperhill to Cobham Road Widening in Kent, and the Rocade Briochine at St Brieuc in Brittany. He has also directed research excavations and surveys built around public participation for the Earth Trust at Little Wittenham in Oxfordshire.

Tim acted as the Highways Agency’s Archaeological Advisor on the A13 Thames Gateway DBFO scheme and for the SW Framework Environmental Consultancy for proposed dualling schemes in Cornwall. He provided the Cultural Heritage contribution to the A2 Pepperhill to Cobham EIA. He has also been consultant to the Vale of White Horse District Council, Eton College, and several developers.

Tim is an experienced publicist of archaeology through open days, exhibitions, popular publications, web pages, public lectures and talks, promotional films, TV and radio. Tim has an MA and BA (Hons) in Classics from the University of Oxford, and is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA) and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London (FSA).

Carl joined Oxford Archaeology in 2004 as a supervisor, after working for various archaeological units since graduating in 1999. He has worked on many of the large infrastructure projects over this time, including High Speed 1, Framework Archaeology, M25, Crossrail and Thameslink. He has also been lead geoarchaeologist for several nationally important early prehistoric wetland sites in London, Carlisle and East Sussex. He has managed a broad range of excavation projects, including Bexhill Gateway Road, St Cross College, Oxford and Whitchurch. He also has an extensive publication record and has been involved in several long-term research projects (COSMIC, TRIALS and NHPP).

Carl holds a BA (Hons) from University of Wales, Lampeter, and a MSc in geoarchaeology from Reading. He actively promotes archaeological outreach through public talks, articles and open days. Carl is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (ACIfA).

Ben graduated from Reading University in 1990 with a BA (Hons) in Archaeology. He joined Oxford Archaeology in 1996, and serves as a Senior Project Manager and Term Contract Manager for the Historic Royal Palaces. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA).

Ben has particular strengths in the management, organisation, execution and delivery of large and medium scale excavation and post-excavation projects on urban, and built environment sites where archaeological work has to dovetail with that of demolition/remediation and construction contractors. He has a good understanding of how archaeology relates to, and affects, other disciplines, and can communicate well with all project stakeholders, such as engineers, architects, local authorities, and English Heritage.

His many years in the profession allow him to be highly versatile, maintain a clear focus on the implications of time and budgetary constraints, and deliver high quality from a project’s conception to its completion.

Stuart graduated from from Durham University in 1990 with a  BA (Hons) in Archaeology and Anthropology. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Field Archaeologists (MCIfA). He joined Oxford Archaeology in 1997 after an early career as a field archaeologist in Essex and elsewhere in the UK.

His range of experience includes environmental impact assessments, field surveys, evaluations, excavations and building recording. He has training and experience in expert witness work and extensive practical experience of designing mitigation and preservation schemes, including codes of construction practice. He is particularly experienced in managing archaeological fieldwork and post-excavation projects on major transport infrastructure schemes, such as OA's commitment to High Speed 1, the A30 Bodmin to Indian Queens Roadscheme, and the London Gateway Port.

Steve has experience at many levels of fieldwork, having been employed in professional archaeology since 1994. Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, Steve was responsible for the field direction of excavations of several large late Iron Age and Roman settlements. These include two large rural Roman ‘small towns’ and a villa complex. Each project was completed over periods of several months with large field teams, and included significant volunteer involvement that had to be managed as part of the excavations. Following fieldwork, Steve had a role in the analysis and publication of each site, and was the lead author for the Higham Ferrers and Thurnham Villa monographs.

Steve also has a wide range of project management experience, with notable large projects being the investigation of an important copper works at Swansea, carriage widening around the M25, and the ongoing excavations at Great Western Park, Didcot. Each of these have provided challenging programmes, deadlines, excavation conditions and archaeological remains, which have been successfully managed to provide project delivery to the clients.

Stephen graduated from the University of York in 1998 with a BSc in Archaeology and, in 2000, an MSc in Human Palaeoecology. Since joining OA North in 2005 he has managed a wide range of projects, from tender stage, through fieldwork, assessment and analysis, to publication.

Major fieldwork and post-excavation projects include the second stage of excavation within and around the Furness Abbey presbytery (Cumbria), and the Easington to Paull Natural Gas Pipeline (East Yorkshire). Among Stephen's diverse interests is a peculiar fascination with funerary archaeology and human osteology, and he has managed substantial fieldwork and post-excavation investigations within the crowded post-medieval and industrial-period cemeteries at Coronation Street, South Shields (Tyne and Wear), and Redearth, Darwen (Lancashire).

Gerry joined Oxford Archaeology as an Archaeologist in 2000, after graduating from the University of Reading. Since gaining promotion to Senior Project Manager in early 2013, Gerry has managed projects as diverse as the excavations on the nationally important Upper Palaeolithic flint scatter site at Guildford fire station, and an industrial metal working site at Rogerstone, South Wales. Gerry has also managed numerous other excavations, evaluations, geophysical surveys and watching briefs. Gerry’s responsibilities include the day to day management of field work projects and liaison with clients, consultants, field staff, contractors and the media. He also undertakes the post-excavation analysis of sites. Additionally Gerry has considerable involvement with the Contracts Department, compiling tenders for a wide range of projects and clients.

He is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA).

Adam has nearly 20 years' experience in professional archaeology in Britain. After starting as a commercial field archaeologist he graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2001 with a First Class BA in Archaeology and Prehistory, followed by an MA in European Prehistory at the University of Wales, Cardiff, and then undertook research into middle Neolithic pottery at Sheffield University, gaining his PhD in 2013.

Adam is an experienced archaeologist, having worked at multiple commercial companies including PCA, MOLAS, and ARCUS, and then as a Project Officer at Oxford Archaeology North. His portfolio as a project manager includes a large landscape project at Newark, medieval excavations at Carlisle Cathedral and post-medieval and industrial sites near Manchester. He has undertaken post-excavation work, including specialist analysis and report production relating to prehistoric pottery, and has contributed to several peer review articles in this capacity.

Adam is in the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (ACIfA) and a member of both the Prehistoric Society and Prehistoric Ceramic Research Group.

A graduate of the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, where he obtained a BA (Hons) in archaeology, John has worked as a professional archaeologist for nearly 30 years, becoming a Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA) in 1987. A highly experienced fieldwork director and post-excavation researcher, John spent much of his early career working in historic urban environments, where he gained considerable expertise in the excavation of highly complex archaeology, including internationally significant waterlogged deposits.

John is vastly experienced in the excavation, recording and interpretation of multi-period archaeological remains, though his principal research interests lie in the archaeology of the Roman army and the development of urbanism in Britain. Since joining OA North in 2001, he has established a reputation as a leading expert on the Roman period in northern England, and has developed a strong track record of post-excavation analysis and publication. John has authored a wide range of archaeological reports, including substantial monographs presenting the results of large-scale urban excavations he directed at Winchester and Carlisle.

James joined Oxford Archaeology in 2005, and has been a Project Officer since 2013.

James leads evaluations and excavations on site. He also specialises Historic Building recording.  Drawing on a former career as a professional photographer, James does a great deal of photographic work, including photogrammetry, finds and publication photographs.

James makes a major contribution to community archaeology projects at Oxford Archaeology East. Some major projects have included a large Heritage Lottery funded community excavation of a Roman villa at Itter Cresent, Peterborough, and also excavation of a Spitfire from Holme Fen in conjunction with the MoD’s Operation Nightingale.

Nick has worked in professional archaeology since 2004, and joined Oxford Archaeology in 2006. He holds an MA in Archaeology from Cambridge University and an MA in Maritime Archaeology from the University of Southampton.

Nick’s archaeological interests are British prehistory, particularly the Neolithic and Bronze Age. Most of his field experience is around East Anglia, and he has extensive experience in fenland archaeology.

In his current role, he oversees excavations on site, and also coordinates post-excavation work and reporting. Some major projects include evaluation of a 205ha site in Kettering, Northamptonshire, and evaluation of a 60ha site in Newton-on-Trent, Lincolnshire.

Nick is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (ACIfA).

Anthony staring work at OA North in 2007 and moved to OA East in 2010. He graduated from York University in 2002 with a BSc in Archaeology and then in 2004 with an MSc in Zooarchaeology. He has worked on a number of large pipeline and infrastructure projects across the country.

Anthony has particular interests in the Late Upper Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and aviation archaeology. He has worked on several significant flint scatters including the Mesolithic site at Stainton West, Carlisle, and a Mesolithic house on the Isle of Man at Ronaldsway airport. He was the project officer in charge of the excavation of a large in-situ Late Upper Palaeolithic site at Hinxton, Cambridgeshire. He led the excavation of the Holme Fen Spitfire, and has been involved with the excavation of P51D Mustang ‘Ellie May’ and Halifax Bomber LL587.

Outside of OA, Anthony is involved with the People of the Heath community excavation project at Petersfield Heath.

Ant is also Oxford Archaeology East’s health and safety advisor, and is an Associate of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (AIOSH). He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (ACIfA).

Pat has worked in commercial archaeology since 2008 and holds a BA in Archaeology and Ancient History from Reading University.

In his current role as Senior Project Manager, Pat co-ordinates archaeological fieldwork and post-excavation programmes for large residential, commercial and infrastructure projects across the East of England. Major projects he has directed fieldwork for include the Norwich Northern Distributor Road for Balfour Beatty, Wintringham New Housing for Urban and Civic and Great Chesterford New Housing for Bellway Homes.

A background in heritage consultancy also means he is skilled in the production of Desk-Based Assessments, Heritage Impact Assessments, Heritage Statements, Setting Assessments and Cultural Heritage EIA chapters. Some of his major pieces of work include a setting assessment for the National Trust owned Wimpole Estate, PEIR heritage chapters for Heathrow West and Hornsea Project Four and the ES heritage chapter for the Morlais Tidal Array, Anglesey.

Pat has a particular interest in prehistoric landscapes and the transition from the Late Iron Age to Early Roman period.

Pat is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (ACIfA).

Becky has worked for Oxford Archaeology as a Project Officer since 2013 and divides her time between running fieldwork projects and organising the outreach activities for the Oxford office. Most recently she worked on the outreach programme for the large Westgate Oxford development, which involved organising the popular Pop Up Museum, schools visits, open days and website.

Becky graduated with a BSc in Archaeology from Bournemouth University in 2002 and in 2000 with an HND in Practical Archaeology. She joined Oxford Archaeology in 2003 as a field archaeologist and became a supervisor in 2006. She worked on a variety of large archaeological projects, including industrial complexes in the south of Wales, the multiperiod East Kent Access Road scheme in Kent, and a WWII prisoner of war camp in Cherbourg, France. Becky worked for other archaeological companies from 2011, on a post-medieval cemetery clearance and a Environment Agency flood alleviation scheme near Chichester for Archaeology South-East, and then as a supervisor for Network Archaeology on a Mesolithic site near Gatwick airport. She is an Associate (ACIfA) of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists.

Chris has a BA in Archaeology from the University of Reading. He worked for a number of commercial units in East Anglia and London before joining Oxford Archaeology East (then CCC AFU) in 2006.

As a Project Officer, Chris directed a wide range of fieldwork projects on sites around the region, including numerous sites in medieval Huntingdon and broadacre evaluations and excavation ahead of housing development in Cambourne, South Cambridgeshire. He has produced a large number of reports on excavated sites and is a grey literature sub-editor for OA East. Chris edited the Cambridgeshire Extensive Urban Survey Reports, and has completed a Rapid Assessment Report for English Heritage's National Importance Programme Project.
