We recover variable quantities of finds from our excavations. All finds are given the appropriate treatment from the moment of recovery to museum deposition. We have experts in pottery, ceramic building material and fired clay, animal bone, human bone, metal objects, glass, worked stone, bone and wood, lithics and other categories.

Our staff are on hand to catalogue, assess, interpret and analyse the material, and to disseminate the results of their work through publication, talks, and displays.

In addition to analysing material from our own projects, we offer specialist services to outside bodies, such as other archaeological organisations, community groups, schools and members of the general public. Metalwork and small finds are conserved by museum-accredited conservators.
